  • MANDATORY BAR LAWSUIT

    The State Bar is vigorously defending its statutory structure in response to a lawsuit that challenges the mandatory bar in Texas. Mandatory membership in a state bar is constitutional under U.S. Supreme Court precedent because of the state’s interest in regulating the legal profession and improving the quality of legal services.

  • TEXAS BOARD OF LEGAL SPECIALIZATION

    The Texas Board of Legal Specialization is accepting certification applications for 2019. You can find the specific requirements for each of the 24 specialty areas at the “Apply” section of tbls.org. Certification applications are only available until April 30, 2019 and the exam is October 14, 2019 in Austin.
