About the Texas Bar Journal
The Texas Bar Journal is the official publication of the
State Bar of Texas and the only legal publication mailed to every
member of the Texas Bar. With a circulation of approximately 131,764
subscribers, the magazine is published monthly, except for a combined
July/August issue. The Texas Bar Journal features legal
articles, State Bar news, profiles on Texas lawyers, and information on
technology and trends in the law. One copy of each issue is furnished
to members as part of their State Bar dues.
The
Texas Bar Journal Board of Editors—which is composed of
attorneys from around the state, including representatives from the
State Bar Board of Directors, all appointed by the State Bar
president-elect—is charged with setting editorial direction for the
magazine and reviewing legal article submissions. Board members also
contribute articles, coordinate special issues, and help identify
authors.
Contributions to the Texas Bar Journal are welcomed, but the right is reserved to select material to be published. Publication of any article or statement is not to be deemed an endorsement of the views expressed therein, nor shall publication of any advertisement be considered an endorsement of the product or service involved. For guidelines, go to texasbar.com/submissions.
The first issue of the Texas Bar Journal was printed in January 1938, a little more than a year before the State Bar began its formal existence on April 19, 1939. Thanks to an alliance we have with William S. Hein and Co., State Bar members have free access to a complete archive of the Texas Bar Journal, from 1938 to the present.
