Laura Gibson is a partner in Dentons’ Litigation and Dispute Resolution practice. She has been board certified in labor and employment law since 2001.

Gibson has served on the State Bar Board of Directors since 2016 where she has been named to numerous committees. She also has served on the Texas Bar Journal Board of Editors (2012-2015) and the Texas Supreme Court’s Unauthorized Practice of Law Committee.

Gibson was 2015-16 president of the Houston Bar Association after spending years in the positions of treasurer, secretary, first vice president, second vice president, and board member. She served in various positions of the HBA Board of Directors from 2006 to 2016. Gibson is a Sustaining Life Fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation and the Houston Bar Foundation.

In 2013, Gibson received the Trailblazer Outside Counsel Award from the Texas Minority Counsel Program. The award is given annually to the lawyer who has done the most to promote diversity within the legal profession. She also received Houston Bar Association President’s Awards in 2010 and 2012 for her work on the Law Week and Lawyers Against Waste committees, respectively.
