Pro Bono Training and Events

  • Pro Bono Coordinators Retreat

This preconference to the annual Poverty Law Conference provides valuable training to pro bono coordinators from legal aid offices, law firms, law schools, or corporate law departments on increasing the quantity and quality of legal services available to the poor through pro bono efforts.

  • Poverty Law Conference

Learn about the latest developments in civil law. This three-day event provides valuable training on poverty law issues affecting low-income and poor Texans.

  • Task Forces

The LAD provides logistical support to six legal aid task forces. Task force meetings offer legal aid attorneys and advocates the opportunity to meet with others practicing in the same substantive area while staying informed on changes in the law. Agenda topics are set by the task force chair, and most meetings qualify for MCLE accreditation. The following legal services task forces are supported by the LAD:

    • Education and Juvenile Justice Task Force

    • Employment Law Task Force

    • Family Law Task Force

    • Housing/Consumer Task Force

    • Immigration Task Force

    • Public Benefits/Health Law Task Force
