Military Attorney Registration

Military attorneys stationed in Texas but not licensed to practice law in Texas may seek limited permission to represent military service members or their dependents. Attorneys must have admission to practice law and be in good standing.

Registration

Visit ble.texas.gov/home to get an application, instructions, the rules, and fee amounts. The Texas Board of Law Examiners is responsible for program registration and application renewals.

The board will acknowledge receipt of your application within two weeks. If you do not receive such an acknowledgment within two weeks, please contact the office of the Texas Board of Law Examiners at (800) 463-1621.

You will be notified once your registration is completed and your application has been approved. The acknowledgment letter will serve as your registration for limited permission to practice law in Texas.
