Congratulations to our 2026 Stars of Texas Bars Award recipients! Winners will be honored at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting on Thursday, June 11, 2026, at the Marriott Marquis in Houston.

2026 Stars of Texas Bars Award Winners

Each local bar association was allowed to submit entries for programs, events, or publications that occurred between May 1, 2025, and April 24, 2026.

The Stars of Texas Bars Awards include eight award categories that recognize local bar associations for outstanding community involvement, commitment to increasing access to justice, dedication to the legal profession, and excellent reporting. Each local bar association has the opportunity to receive awards based on its division. Divisions are broken down by the size of bar membership. The State Bar of Texas Local Bar Services Committee annually honors one individual who demonstrates a commitment to fostering and maintaining the relationship between his or her local bar association and the State Bar of Texas. 2026 Judge Sam Williams Brochure

The award, established in 1990, is named in honor of Judge Sam Williams, the long-time president of the Northeast Texas Bar Association. Judge Williams, an outstanding leader of the local bar association, exemplified the highest ideals of the position and significantly contributed to maintaining the local bar association's relationship with the State Bar of Texas.
