Registration Deadline
The registration deadline for the July 2025 Local Bar Leaders Conference is June 25, 2025.
Who Should Register
Leadership from metropolitan, county, regional, specialty, and minority bar associations, in addition to young lawyer affiliates are encouraged to register as delegates for the conference. Local Texas chapters of other state or national bar associations are also invited to register delegates.
We encourage new leaders from associations to attend each year as the programming remains largely the same from year to year. If you have participated in the conference two or more times in the past five years, please allow another leader from your organization to attend and receive the significant benefits this program has to offer.
Complimentary Delegate Registrations & Attendance Requirements
Complimentary delegate registrations are available to each association that wants to attend. Complimentary delegates must meet attendance requirements to be eligible for everything that is included with registration.

At-Large Delegate: Each association may send one member as their At-Large Delegate. At-Large Delegates are required to attend and sign in to at least five breakouts during the conference. At-Large Delegates from TYLA affiliates are required to attend TYLA: Supporting Uncommon Affiliates breakout on Thursday morning. This delegate type is open to ALL associations.

Access to Justice Delegate: Each association may send one member as their Access to Justice Delegate. Access to Justice Delegates are required to attend and sign in to all of the Access to Justice Breakouts on Friday. This delegate type is open to ALL associations.

TYLA Affiliate Delegate: Each young lawyer affiliate may send two additional members as their TYLA Affiliate Delegates. TYLA Affiliate Delegates are required to attend and sign in to all TYLA breakouts. This delegate type is only available to official TYLA affiliates.

Executive Director Delegate: Executive Directors of an association are also invited to attend the conference. This delegate type is only available to executive directors on staff with an association.
What Is Included with Complimentary Delegate Registrations
If attendance requirements are met, complimentary delegates receive the following:

Conference Registration – This $150 value gives you access to all conference meals and events (Thursday lunch, Friday breakfast, and Friday lunch).

Two nights at the Westin Galleria Houston – Delegates may book additional nights at the $179 per night rate but are responsible for payment of any additional nights. If attendance requirements are not met, delegates will be responsible for their entire hotel charge.

Travel Reimbursement* – Delegates will be reimbursed for travel expenses up to a specified dollar amount depending on the distance from their home to the Westin Galleria Houston. The mileage rate is $0.70 per mile. Travel reimbursements may not exceed capped amounts listed below (including airfare). If attendance requirements are not met, delegates will not be eligible for travel reimbursement.
0-299 miles round trip $150
300-450 miles round trip $250
451-600 miles round trip $350
601-750 miles round trip $450
751+ miles round trip $550
*Reimbursement forms can be found at texasbar.com/lblc following the conference. Forms can be emailed or mailed to the Local Bar Services Department. Please provide all receipts including any airline tickets, rideshares, and shuttle services. Please be sure to sign the reimbursement form!
Additional Delegate Registrations
Along with their complementary delegates, associations are encouraged to register additional delegates. However, these additional delegates are responsible for their conference registration fee ($150) and hotel charges. Additional delegates are not eligible for reimbursement of travel expenses.
How to Book Your Hotel Reservation
A room block has been reserved at the Westin Galleria in
Houston. The State Bar will book all complimentary and
additional delegate reservations on a first-come, first-served
basis. To reserve your room, complete Step 3 on
the registration form (coming soon) and
return your form to the State Bar of Texas by June 25, 2025. Every
delegate must provide credit card information to guarantee a hotel
room. Reservations received after the deadline are subject to
availability.

Hotel Cancellation Policy
If you need to cancel your hotel reservation after registering, please notify the State Bar of Texas by June 25, 2025, at 512-427-1514. After June 25, reservations must be canceled directly with the hotel at 713-585-4673. The credit card on file will be charged a no-show fee of $179 plus tax if reservations are not canceled 72 hours prior to check-in.
Special Accommodations
Delegates with disabilities and those who require special accommodation should contact the State Bar at 512-427-1514 prior to June 25, 2025.
Attire
The Local Bar Leaders Conference is a casual event. Keep in mind that meeting rooms are cold, so bring a light sweater or jacket!
Dinner and Casino Party
We hope you will join us on Thursday, July 24th from 6:00 p.m. – 10:00 p.m. for a Dinner and Casino Party where you can socialize, network, and get to know your fellow local bar leaders.
Door Prizes
To make the conference more fun and to promote the involvement of all bar associations, we suggest that each association bring a door prize indigenous to the area of the state they represent. The door prizes will be given away at the conference luncheons, breakfast, and the Casino Party. No minimum monetary value must be met. Suggestions include gift baskets, hotel visits, or tickets to local attractions. Be creative! Please bring your contribution to the registration desk when the conference kicks off and ensure it’s labeled with your bar association’s name.
