State Bar Act (Government Code Section 81)
Adopted by the Legislature in 1939, this law governs the operations and responsibilities of the State Bar.
We are required by law to develop a comprehensive, long-range strategic plan for the State Bar of Texas. This plan includes goals and how these goals are measured, which must be reported to the Supreme Court of Texas every year.
