Dallas attorney Britney E. Harrison selected
chair-elect of State Bar of Texas Board of Directors

 

SUGAR LAND — Britney E. Harrison was selected chair-elect of the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors during the board’s quarterly meeting today in Sugar Land. Harrison, of Turner McDowell Rowan, in Dallas, will take office in June and will serve as chair until June 2026.

Harrison is currently a State Bar director representing District 6, Place 3, as well as a past chair of the bar’s Outreach and Engagement Committee. She serves on the board of editors for the Texas Bar Journal and is a fellow of the Texas Bar Foundation.

Additionally, Harrison is an advisory board member of the Dallas Bar Association. She was president of the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA) from 2020 to 2021. Prior to that, she served on the board of the Austin Young Lawyers Association, after serving as liaison to that board for the Austin Black Lawyers Association.

Harrison began her legal career as a commercial litigator in Austin after receiving her Juris Doctor degree from the University of Texas in 2010. She later transitioned into family law and relocated to Dallas, where she has worked at various firms for a decade. She is currently a senior associate at Turner McDowell Rowan.

Among other accolades, Harrison has been recognized as a Texas Super Lawyer, a Texas Rising Star, as one of D Magazine’s Best Lawyers, and D Magazine’s Best Lawyers Under 40, and as one of The Best Lawyers in America in the field of family law by Woodward and White Press.
