Austin to host 2023 State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting

AUSTIN — The 2023 State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting will take place June 22-23 at the J.W. Marriott Austin.

Featured speakers at the meeting include:

  • William P. Barr, the 77th and 85th attorney general of the United States. Barr will deliver the keynote address at the Bar Leaders Recognition Luncheon on June 22.
  • Debra H. Lehrmann, Texas Supreme Court senior justice, and Timothy Berg, Uniform Law Commission Executive Committee chair, together will deliver the keynote address at the Bench Bar Breakfast on June 23.
  • Chet Garner, host of PBS’ The Daytripper, will speak at the General Session Luncheon on June 23.

Other special events include:

  • The 2023 Open Government Seminar (free and open to the public) will feature a legislative update on trends in open government law and a panel discussion titled “Post-Pandemic Court Proceedings.” The Open Government Seminar runs from 9 to 11 a.m. on June 23.
  • Cindy V. Tisdale of Granbury will be sworn in as the 2023-2024 president of the State Bar of Texas at noon on June 23 during the General Session Luncheon.
  • Steve Benesh of Austin will be sworn in as the 2023-2024 State Bar of Texas president-elect on June 22 during a board of directors meeting.
