State Bar of Texas to honor former 3rd Court of Appeals justice
for service to the legal profession

What: The State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and President Joe K. Longley will present a resolution to Justice Cynthia “Cindy” Olson Bourland.

Background: At its quarterly meetings, the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors often adopts resolutions honoring local attorneys or judges for exceptional service to the profession and community. Selections are made after seeking input from local State Bar directors, area bar associations, colleagues, and others familiar with the work of the attorneys or judges receiving the recognition.
Cindy Olson Bourland is a former justice on the 3rd Court of Appeals who served on the bench from 2015 through 2018. She is a fifth-generation Texan, and more specifically a fifth-generation resident of the city of Round Rock. She was a private-practice lawyer for 20 years in Austin and Round Rock before her time on the court. She is president of the Bourland Law Firm, which she founded in 2009.
