State Bar of Texas to honor Sherman organization at Annual Meeting

AUSTIN — The State Bar of Texas will honor exceptional service to the public and the legal profession during its Annual Meeting on June 22 and 23 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

The following Sherman organization is among those being honored:

The Grayson County Legal Aid Clinic and its volunteers will receive a Pro Bono Award presented by the State Bar of Texas. The award honors a volunteer attorney organization that has made an outstanding contribution toward guaranteeing access to the legal system by the poor. The Grayson County volunteers began their pro bono clinic 30 years ago, relying heavily on the generosity of Grace United Methodist Church for hosting the clinic since its inception. The volunteer group is made up of six solo practitioners, two legal assistants, and one librarian. These individuals are dedicated and generous with their time and talents.
