Media Advisory:

State Bar of Texas to honor Marble Falls attorney with resolution

When: Between noon and 1:30 p.m. Friday, April 15

Where: Horseshoe Bay Resort, 200 Hi Circle North, Horseshoe Bay, Texas

What: The State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and President Allan K. DuBois will present a resolution to Marble Falls attorney Mandy K. McCary for outstanding service to the legal profession and the community in Burnet and Llano counties.

Background: The State Bar of Texas Board of Directors meets quarterly in different cities across the state. At these meetings, the board regularly adopts a resolution honoring a local attorney or judge for exceptional service to the profession and community. Selections are made after seeking input from local State Bar directors, local bar associations, colleagues, and others familiar with the work of the attorney or judge receiving the recognition.

McCary became a licensed attorney in 2001 and currently practices at McCary & McCary P.C. in Marble Falls. A past president of the Highland Lakes Bar Association, McCary is being honored for her work providing pro bono civil legal assistance to veterans as well as her commitment to community organizations and events that raise awareness for and seek to help victims of domestic violence and sexual assault.

Media Note: The board is expected to adopt the resolution without comment during its meeting, which begins at 9 a.m. Friday, April 15. The resolution will be presented during a luncheon immediately following the meeting. The presentation is expected to begin between noon and 1:30 p.m., depending on the length of the morning agenda. If you can’t attend but would like to receive a photo for publication of McCary receiving the award, please email astarnes@texasbar.com in advance of the event and express your interest.
