State Bar of Texas to honor San Antonio individuals at Annual Meeting

AUSTIN — Presentations of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 18-19 at the Grand Hyatt and Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.

The following San Antonio individuals are among those being honored:

  • Phil Hardberger, Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation

  • Dr. Patricia Sanchez, Honorary Leon Jaworski Award for Teaching Excellence, presented by the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. This award recognizes educators who have made an outstanding contribution to law-focused education and whose programs foster understanding of the values of our legal and judicial system.

  • Dinah Gaines, Outstanding Mentor Award, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association

  • Nick Guinn, Outstanding First Year Director Award, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association

  • Bill Lemons, Justice Frank G. Evans Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Alternative Dispute Resolution Section

  • James Kenneth Spivey, Distinguished Counselor Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Antitrust and Business Litigation Section

  • Justice Jason Pulliam, Trailblazer Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas African American Lawyers Section

  • Ricardo Loza, Pete Torres Jr. Community Service Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Hispanic Issues Section

  • Justice Patricia Alvarez, Judge of the Year Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Hispanic Issues Section

  • Nina Perales, James W. Wray Jr. Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Hispanic Issues Section
