State Bar of Texas to honor Fort Worth individuals, organization at Annual Meeting
AUSTIN — Presentations of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 18-19 at the Grand Hyatt and Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio.
The following Fort Worth organization and individuals are among those being honored:
Tarrant County Bar Association, Outstanding Partnership Award for Ballin’ for a Cause, as well as the Award of Merit. Ballin’ for a Cause is a 3-on-3 basketball tournament that raises money to cover the costs associated with mentor matches with Big Brothers and Big Sisters.
Shawn Aaron Young, Corporate Counsel Pro Bono Award, presented by the Texas Access to Justice Commission
Laura W. Docker, President’s Award of Merit, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
Travis Patterson, President’s Award of Merit, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
Justice Anne Gardner, Samuel Pessarra Outstanding Jurist Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation
Dee J. Kelly, Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation
Stephen L. Tatum, Luther H. Soules Award of Excellence in the Practice of Law, presented by the State Bar of Texas Litigation Section
Gene Rollins, Impact Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Poverty Law Section
