State Bar of Texas to honor Midland attorney, judge at Annual Meeting

AUSTIN — Presentations of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 26-27 at the Hilton Austin and Austin Convention Center.

The following Midland attorneys are among those being honored:

  • Ted Kerr, Nancy L. Garms Memorial Award. The State Bar of Texas established the award in 1995 to honor an attorney or judge who emulates tireless service to the State Bar of Texas Law-Focused Education programs. An attorney, Kerr founded Law Focused Education, Inc. in 1975 and has continued to support law-related education by serving as chair of the State Bar of Texas Law Focused Education Committee for many years.
  • Judge Dean Rucker of the 318th Family District Court, Samuel Pessarra Outstanding Jurist Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation
