State Bar of Texas to honor Dallas attorneys, Dallas Bar Association at Annual Meeting
AUSTIN — Presentations of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 26-27 at the Hilton Austin and Austin Convention Center.
The following Dallas individuals and organizations are among those being honored:
- Michael W. Anglin, Pro Bono Service Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section
- Aaron T. Capps, President’s Award of Merit, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- D. Lance Currie, President’s Award of Merit, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- Dallas Bar Association, Award of Merit, for continuing to improve services to its more than 11,000 members and to the community; Outstanding Partnership Award, for its work with the Dallas Independent School District on programs including Law Day contests, mock trials, and internships; and Star of Achievement Awards for producing Representing Yourself in a Divorce, a guide for pro se litigants, and for hosting a special program to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Civil Rights Act of 1964.
- Lacy L. Durham, President’s Award of Merit, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association; and Outstanding Achievement Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas African American Law Section
- Bill Gardner, Keith L. Krueger Leadership Award, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- W. John Glancy, Lola Wright Foundation Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation
- Judge Bonnie Goldstein, Michael L. O’Neal Outstanding Jurist Gavel Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Municipal Judges Section
- John J. Grieger Jr., Impact Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Poverty Law Section.
- Michael K. Hurst, Outstanding Mentor, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- Michele Wong Krause, Presidential Citation. Krause is a Dallas-based section representative to the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors. Along with board members Tim Kelly and David Chamberlain, she is receiving the citation for being instrumental in the creation of the Texas Bar Private Insurance Exchange, a multi-carrier private exchange offering State Bar members, their staffs, and their dependents access to a wide range of health insurance choices.
- 14th Judicial District Court Judge Eric V. Moyé, Distinguished Jurist Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas African American Law Section
- Julianne M. Parker, Outstanding Service Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas Bankruptcy Law Section
- Sally Pretorius, Joseph M. Pritchard Inn Outstanding Director Award, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- Mandy Price, Outstanding Young Lawyer of Texas Award, presented by the Texas Young Lawyers Association
- Paul K. Stafford, Trailblazer Award, presented by the State Bar of Texas African American Law Section
- Sid Stahl, Outstanding 50 Year Lawyer Award, presented by the Texas Bar Foundation
