Ronald E. Bunch of Waxahachie Reappointed Chair of Commission for Lawyer Discipline
AUSTIN — Ronald E. Bunch of Waxahachie has been appointed to a second term as Chair of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline by State Bar of Texas President Bob Black.
The Commission is a standing committee of the State Bar of Texas that provides oversight to the Chief Disciplinary Counsel and administers the attorney discipline system. The Commission is composed of 12 members: six attorneys appointed by the president of the State Bar and six public members appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas.
Bunch is a sole practitioner who focuses on personal injury and criminal law. A past president of the Ellis County Bar Association, Bunch has served on the State Bar of Texas board of directors, the Unauthorized Practice of Law Subcommittee, and as chair of the State Bar Local Bar Services Committee. He served as vice chair of the Commission for Lawyer Discipline from 2009 until his appointment as chair last August. He is a graduate of Baylor Law School.
The State Bar of Texas is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Texas. The Bar provides educational programs for the legal profession and the public, administers the minimum continuing legal education program for attorneys, and manages the attorney discipline system.
