Beaumont Individual and Organization Honored by State Bar of Texas

DALLAS – Presentation of awards honoring exceptional service to the public and the legal profession will be a highlight of the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting, to be held June 25-26 at the Hilton Anatole in Dallas.

Bob Black of Beaumont will be presented with a Certificate of Merit, presented by the State Bar of Texas Board of Directors and past presidents for outstanding contributions to the legal profession. Black is being honored for his service as a former chair of the State Bar Board of Directors, serving as a member of the Executive Committee, and as co-chair of the Nominations Committee. He has also served as a trustee of the Texas Bar Foundation, and chaired the Grant Review Committee which overhauled grant policies.

The Jefferson County Bar Association will be honored with an Award of Merit, and recognition for Best Overall Newsletter and Best Feature Story for local bar associations of its size.

The State Bar of Texas is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Texas that provides educational programs for the legal profession and the public, administers the minimum continuing legal education program for attorneys, and manages the attorney discipline system.
