Assistance to Indigent Defendants Under Renewed Emergency Order Number 23-9096 Out of State Attorney Registration

Under Emergency Order Number 23-9096 issued by the Supreme Court of Texas on November 14, 2024, a qualifying attorney licensed in another U.S. jurisdiction who wishes to provide legal services as an employee of a public defender office or through a managed assigned counsel program to indigent defendants arrested for certain misdemeanor offenses may register here.

Assistance to Indigent Defendants Under Renewed Emergency Order Number 24-9100 Out of State Attorney Registration

Pursuant to the Supreme Court of Texas Renewed Emergency Order Number 24-9100, this Attorney Registration application is only for qualifying attorneys who are licensed to practice law in another U.S. jurisdiction and who meet the criteria outlined in Renewed Emergency Order Number 24-9100. To complete the Attorney Registration application, you will be required to upload documentation showing that you are in good standing and authorized to practice law with the entity that governs the practice of law in the jurisdiction in which you are licensed. Acceptable documentation include a letter of good standing, a screen shot of website listing you as such, etc.

By submitting this Attorney Registration application, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by Renewed Emergency Order Number 24-9100. By submitting this Attorney Registration application, you also agree to abide by the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct and to submit to the disciplinary jurisdiction of the Supreme Court of Texas and the State Bar of Texas.
