vLex Fastcase is a new, improved version of the existing Fastcase legal research platform, with enhancements that revolutionize access to legal documents. This innovative platform offers State Bar of Texas members complimentary access to comprehensive U.S. legal materials. Enhanced by vLex’s advanced AI-driven tools, vLex Fastcase provides a comprehensive collection of legal content on a single intuitive platform, allowing for unparalleled efficiency and a competitive edge in case preparation and strategy.

How to access vLex Fastcase

Log into My Bar Page to access vLex Fastcase today. All current subscriptions will automatically transition from Fastcase 7 to vLex Fastcase. You will be able to transfer any notes, folders, and favorites to the new platform.

State Bar of Texas members can access these essential vLex Fastcase features as part of their member benefits:

  • Comprehensive U.S. and international legal content: vLex Fastcase hosts an extensive array of caselaw, statutes, regulations, legal journals, and news. With over 1 billion searchable documents, it enables attorneys to conduct thorough research using just one platform, reducing the need for multiple subscriptions. U.S.-based State Bar of Texas members will still have access to their existing subscriptions on Fastcase and can choose to purchase additional content on vLex Fastcase if required.

  • Enhanced access to bar publications: vLex Fastcase creates a unique repository for bar publications, not typically available on other platforms. This exclusive access gives bar members a significant advantage in research and case preparation.

  • Cert, a cutting-edge negative citator tool for vLex Fastcase, empowers legal researchers by swiftly and effortlessly identifying cases that have been treated unfavorably in subsequent decisions, providing a comprehensive perspective on a case’s precedential value.

You can access everything you had on Fastcase 7, plus:

  • Comprehensive U.S. coverage: vLex Fastcase brings the whole national law library to your desktop, with online access to a legal research database of cases, statutes, regulations, court rules, and bar publications, and more, right at your fingertips.

  • Featured libraries: vLex Fastcase offers a unique repository for bar publications, not typically available on other platforms. This exclusive access provides bar members with a significant advantage in research and case preparation.

  • International content: vLex Fastcase allows you to search for materials beyond your subscription and outside the U.S., including legal information from over 100 countries. You can opt to upgrade to access this additional content if needed.

FAQs

What is vLex Fastcase?

vLex Fastcase is the new and improved version of Fastcase 7, exclusively available to Texas lawyers through their State Bar of Texas membership.

Do I need to take any action at this time?

All you need to do is log in to your member benefit account as normal and you can opt to access the new service.

Will I be able to access the same content as before?

Yes. Your subscription will be transferred from Fastcase 7 to vLex Fastcase.

Can I continue to use Fastcase 7?

Yes, but only for a short time. Both Fastcase 7 and vLex Fastcase will be available to you while we migrate all members. However, Fastcase 7 will be closing in the near future, so we would encourage you to start using vLex Fastcase as soon as possible.

Is there online support for vLex Fastcase?

Yes, vLex Fastcase, designed for member benefit providers, shares many of the same features as vLex, the legal research platform, available for purchase outside of your member benefit. The supporting guides, videos, and online support for vLex will be available to vLex Fastcase users.
