VOTER ELIGIBILITY
Voting in State Bar of Texas president-elect and district director races is open to all active bar members.
Voting in Texas Young Lawyers Association president-elect and district director races is open to all members of TYLA. The Texas Supreme Court recently approved changes to the TYLA membership structure that made additional Texas lawyers eligible to vote in TYLA elections. Under the new structure, all Texas lawyers licensed 12 years or less at the beginning of each fiscal year (June 1) are automatically members of TYLA. Previously, Texas lawyers were automatically TYLA members if they were 36 years old or younger or in their first five years of practice.
