Online Member Directory
The TexasBar.com Online Member
directory is by a number of new criteria, in addition to name. You may search
the new directory by practice area, specialty area, region, law school,
and more.
To access the directory, you may
do a quick search by entering a first name, last name, or bar card number
in the blue box which is found on every page of the website.
For the more search options, click
“Advanced Search” in the blue box which is found on every page
of the website. On this screen, you may enter one or more search criteria,
in any combination. For specialty practice area, practice area, services
offered, and languages spoken, you may use CTRL-click to select more than
one of option per menu.
After you enter or select your
search criteria, click the “Submit” button at the bottom of
the screen. You will see a list of results matching the criteria you entered
or selected. If more than 500 results are returned, you will be asked to
refine your search to return fewer results. To do this, click the “back”
button on your browser and enter more criteria.
On the search results screen, you
may click any of the column titles (i.e. name, address, status) to alphabetically
or numerically sort the results by that title.

How can
I upload a photo for the online directory?
Go to MyBarPage and
click on “Update My Profile” under “My Profile.”
Then click on “My Directory Options.” Follow the instructions
to upload your photo. The ideal size is 100 x 120 pixels. I may be color
or black and white.

What are
the email icons in the directory?
You may choose to receive emails
via the Online Directory. When a website visitor clicks on the email icon
in the directory search results screen, he or she will be able to fill out
a form and send you an email via the website. For privacy reasons, the State
Bar will not display your email address – the email you receive will
be transmitted via TexasBar.com and the person emailing you will not see
your email address. This service is offered as a member convenience, and
is optional.

To set your email preference, go
to MyBarPage and click on “Update My Profile” under “My
Profile.” Then click on “My Directory Options.” On that
screen, check the box to indicate that you would like to receive email via
the member directory.

How do I add practice areas
for the directory?
To indicate your practice areas,
go to MyBarPage and click on “Update My Profile” under “My
Profile.” Then click on “My Directory Options.” On that
screen, indicate your practice areas.
