Commission for Lawyer DisciplineThe Commission for Lawyer Discipline is the client body
of the Office of the Chief Disciplinary Counsel in disciplinary actions,
as defined by the Texas Rules of Disciplinary Procedure. The Commission
also reviews the structure, function and effectiveness of the disciplinary
and disability procedures. The Commission provides an annual report to the
Supreme Court, the Board of Directors, and the legislature on the state
of the attorney discipline and disability system and makes recommendations
for refinement and improvement to the system. The Commission recommends
to the Board of Directors an annual budget for the operation of the attorney
discipline and disability system. The Commission is composed of 12 members:
six attorneys appointed by the President of the State Bar and six public
members appointed by the Supreme Court of Texas. Statutory Authority: Tex.
