TMCP Corporate Counsel of the Year Award

The TMCP presents its Corporate Counsel of the Year Award to the corporate counsel that has consistently supported the TMCP through sponsorship, participation in its programs, and support of the Program’s goals of diversity and inclusion. The recipient will be the nominee judged by the Selection Committee to have done the most to open doors for Texas minority and women attorneys by promoting diversity within its department and/or company and by consistently hiring minority and/or women attorneys in private practice to perform legal work on behalf of its company.

Program Background & Mission

The TMCP was formed in 1993 with the mission of increasing opportunities for minority and women attorneys who provide legal services to corporate and government clients, and to expose organizations to the legal talent found in the minority and woman community.  Since its inception, the TMCP has been instrumental in enhancing the employment and economic opportunities for minority and women attorneys throughout the state of Texas.

Who Should Attend

  • Minority and women lawyers desiring to enhance their opportunities to represent corporate and government organizations.
  • Corporations and government organizations desiring to retain or become more visible to minority and women lawyers in Texas.

Conference Goals

  • Provide informational interviewing opportunities to minority and women lawyers for potential outside counsel retention by corporations and governmental agencies.
  • Offer an informal environment for attendees to meet and network.
  • Present a two-track CLE program designed for minority/women lawyers and corporate/government counsel.
