The Texas Lawyers' Assistance Program (TLAP) provides for the identification,
peer intervention and rehabilitation of any Texas attorney, judge or law
student whose professional performance is impaired because of substance
abuse, dependency, and other mental health issues including depression,

Client-Attorney Assistance Program
The Client-Attorney Assistance Program assists clients and attorneys in
resolving minor problems affecting their relationships when the issues do
not involve misconduct under the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional

Ethics Helpline
The Helpline is designed to assist Texas attorneys who have questions about
their ethical obligations to clients, courts, and the public under the Texas
Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct. The information disseminated
is designed to give attorneys guidance on how to access to rules, ethical
opinions and case law so an attorney can make an informed ethical decision.
Pursuant to the policy of the Board of Directors of the State Bar, the Chief
Disciplinary Counsel and his staff are not permitted to issue written opinions
or legal advice. The Attorney Ethics Helpline does not provide legal assistance
to the general public and cannot address questions concerning pending grievances.

Advertising Review Department
The purpose of the department is to implement the lawyer advertising rules
under Part VII of the Texas Disciplinary Rules of Professional Conduct.
Department staff facilitate the regulatory functions performed by the Advertising

advertising Rules, interpretive comments to the Rules, and how to file an
