Criteria for Division
Membership
You should apply for active membership in the State
Bar of Texas Paralegal
Division if you are currently employed as a legal assistant and are
performing substantive legal work 80 percent of the time. Details about

Specialization
as a Legal Assistant
Legal Assistants may be eligible for certification
by the Texas
Board of Legal Specialization in the areas of civil trial law,
criminal law, estate planning and probate law, family law, personal injury
