Buck Files 2012-2013

Buck Files was elected president of the State Bar of Texas in May 2011. State Bar members elect the president, who serves a one-year term as president-elect before taking office. State Bar president-elect candidates are recommended by the board's Nominations and Elections Committee in accordance with a three-year rotating cycle between members in a metropolitan area, non-metropolitan area, and an open year.

Buck Files' focus this year is to communicate the many benefits, programs, and opportunities for service that the Bar offers its members.

The State Bar of Texas is made up of 90,000 men and women who come from all walks of life. They have one thing in common – they are Texas lawyers. Meet some of these lawyers (video).

This new civics website educates students on landmark court cases through videos, case summaries, and other resources. The site also includes curriculum materials and strategies for teachers on the cases, which are part of new TEKS standards.
