Texas Minority Counsel Program Presents “Inclusion in a Global Economy”
AUSTIN – The State Bar of Texas Office of Minority Affairs will present the 20th anniversary of the Texas Minority Counsel Program, “Inclusion in a Global Economy,” Oct. 3-5 at the Westin Houston, Memorial City.
The event will provide informational interviewing opportunities, networking, client development and continuing legal education for minority and women lawyers and in-house and outside counsel. Visit www.texasbar.com/TMCP for more information.
In addition to a stellar speaker lineup, the Corporate Counsel of the Year Award will be presented to the individual who has done the most to open doors for Texas minority and women attorneys by promoting diversity within his or her department or company, and by consistently hiring minority and/or women attorneys in private practice to perform legal work on behalf of the company.
The Trailblazer Outside Counsel of the Year Award will be presented to the individual who has done the most to promote diversity within the legal profession through hiring, retention and mentoring of minority and/or women attorneys, partnering with minority and women owned law firms, and involvement with bar or community activities designed to promote diversity within the legal profession.
The Texas Minority Counsel Program was created in 1993 with the mission of increasing opportunities for minority and women attorneys who provide legal services to corporate and government clients, and to expose those organizations to top legal talent.
