San Antonio Hosts State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting
SAN ANTONIO – Featured speakers at the State Bar of Texas Annual Meeting June 23-24, 2011 at the Henry B. Gonzalez Convention Center in San Antonio include:
Ron Kirk, U.S. Trade Representative, former Texas
Secretary of State and Dallas Mayor
San Antonio Mayor Julian Castro will welcome attendees on Thursday and serve on an immigration panel Friday. Rep. Joaquin Castro will provide an overview of the 82nd Regular and Special Legislative Sessions, which will be followed by updates in most major practice areas. A corporate counsel forum will include panelists from Valero Energy, USAA Federal Savings Bank, Clear Channel and ERCOT. In addition to two full days of continuing legal education for attorneys, the public sector is invited to attend two free open government panel discussions Friday morning.

Bob Black of Beaumont will be sworn in as president of the State Bar of Texas, and outgoing president Terry Tottenham of Austin will celebrate his successful year. Buck Files of Tyler will become president-elect.
Natalie Cobb Koehler of Meridian will be sworn in as president of the Texas Young Lawyers Association (TYLA), assuming the leadership role from Jennifer Evans Morris of Dallas. C. E. Rhodes of Houston will become TYLA president-elect.
The State Bar of Texas is an administrative agency of the Supreme Court of Texas that provides educational programs for the legal profession and the public, administers the minimum continuing legal education program for attorneys, and manages the attorney discipline system.
