Complaints Against Your Lawyer

If your lawyer fails to return calls or emails, neglects your case, refuses to return your file, or commits other violations of the disciplinary rules, we are here to help.* Our complaint process allows you to file a complaint with the State Bar of Texas. This process is designed to protect you.

Contact a Chief Disciplinary Counsel's Office (CDC)

After the State Bar of Texas receives your complaint, it is reviewed by the Chief Disciplinary Counsel's (CDC) Office to determine whether your attorney has committed a violation.

What to Do if You Cannot Contact Your Attorney

If your attorney dies, disappears, becomes disabled, or is suspended or disbarred, here is a checklist of the steps you should take.
